03 — Safety

You can rent a car from Cape Town airport with most major international car rental companies. Alternatively, you can use Ubers to travel between and within each area.

01 — Renting a car

  • Drink bottled or filtered water rather than tap water during your stay.
  • No additional vaccinations are typically required unless you're travelling to remote areas (safaris). We recommend checking the latest guidance from your local health authority before you travel.
  • Avoid carrying unnecessary valuables and keep personal belongings secure. The Winelands are generally considered very safe, but it's always sensible to take normal precautions. Don't be flashy!
  • If in doubt, follow the advice of locals and your accommodation hosts – they'll have the best recommendations for staying safe and making the most of your trip.
  • Within Cape Town we recommend driving/Ubering between most places and generally avoid walking outside of touristy areas.
Areas we recommend: Seapoint, Camps Bay, Clifton, and V&A Waterfront and Bo-Kaap. We would avoid staying in the CBD.

02 — Accommodation & stays

If you're not staying with us at the venue, we'd recommend booking your accommodation as soon as possible. February is one of the busiest times of year in Cape Town and places tend to book up well in advance. We've included a few accommodation options below to help get your search started: check out Perfect Hideaways for unique stays.
Cape Town is one of the most beautiful places in the world, and we can't wait to share it with you. While South Africa does come with some safety challenges, we visited in March this year and can pass along any travel advice – just shoot us a message.
